Why do we serve?...Cuz we love our unit.
This afternoon,I was chatting with Sharul on the msn. He just become the cadet inspector. So is Sarah. I was telling Sharul that I may not want to become a cadet inspector(CI). Not because my passion is dying. Because i can serve the unit as an instructor like what i'm am doing now. So why become CI? Sharul told me that we serve because we love our unit. Yes, I love Damai. So is Damai NPCC. I want to serve. I still want to serve faithfully. But will my dream as a CI still be burning hot after waiting for one whole year for the course? And the name will only be valid for one year after my JC graduation? I do not know. I do not know how far my passion for NPCC will bring me after seeing, hearing so much. I love to lead. I love to achieve. I love to impart my knowledge. And i know NPCC will give me those opportunities. Sharul said that I'm capable of. But capabilities is definitely not everything. HI Irwan told me once that a soft hearted, emotional leader will not make a good leader. Becoming a CI is definitely not an easy thing. The process is not easy. And the aftermath of the course is even more challenging. Managing a unit: More than 50 cadets and NCOs are under your wings. Whether they learn good things or bad is all based on whether you are a good leader,a good teacher,a good CI or not. Am i up to the challenge? Other than being responsible to the cadets, you have HI,OC above you supervising you, observing every decision and move you made. Comparing your abilities and capabilities with other CIs. Will I be able to take this stress on top of my JC studies and CCAs? A book can't tell you how you should manage a unit. It's completely different from commanding a squad or even a contigent. Because you just simply memorise the commands and just vomit them out. Managing a unit is more than that! It requires experience. Will my passion and willpower help? I don't know. For now,I will still continue to serve Damai NPCC. Cuz i love this unit.
**Thank you Sharul for trying to encourage me. Your words are the fuel that keeps my passion and dream burning hot. Thank you!**
