a nice day.

I had a really nice day today.

I was woken up by his message in the morning. As in, really early in the morning. I wasn't annoyed or what, but instead it was a very good start for my day. Totally brightened up my entire day and.. Yea, I just can't describe explicitly how it felt like.

Then I went back to sleep and woke up having my shows ready to watch. Spent my last few slacking hours helping my mum convert youtube videos to mp3, to be stored in her phone. My mum is getting hip! She is the typical *whispers* housewife/ah soh/aunty but she is a great mum no doubt. And recently I was shocked by a few things. She has learnt to listen to music (Hokkien) from her phone's mp3 player, she was bugging me to choose a nice theme/wallpaper for her phone and lastly, she knows what is PUPPY LOVE! Yea. I love you mum, if that helps to save my ass from writing this. Hahahaa..

Anywho, my class started at night and it was my first lecture on Organisation Behaviour. It was a really pleasant surprise, wasn't what I thought it is. Mostly because of the motherly, cheery lecturer and made me really paid attention to what she said. And its really applicable to my npcc organisation even though I'm not so active now. But I realised why certain things worked in a particular way for what reasons. Its very broad and ambiguous yet very very interesting. Very refreshing from Human Biology of course.

What I've learnt today:
- Managers vs Leaders [I hope my cadets/ncos can read this]
What is the difference between a manager and a leader?
A manager's duty is to manage (duh!) and carry out his/her responsibilities as a manager. A leader is to lead, making sure that his/her subordinates' abilities are capitalised and ensuring that they work towards the goal planned by the manager. And we all have to accept the fact that in the reality, not all managers are leaders but almost always all leaders have the abilities to be a manager.

Ahhh. I think I was just bullshitting there.

- Changing culture to obtain the non-changing output
What organisations want as an output is always the same. Increased productivity, increased morale, decreased absenteeism, whatever, you name it. Situations, generations, public ideas are always changing. So, for an organisation to continue achieving the same output, its culture has to be constantly changing.

Does it make sense?

Ok, sorry if I totally bore you. I should copy that chunk and put in my npcc blog since I can think of a dozen links from that to npcc context. Ok, I'm just really enthusiastic about this module. =)

Adios!

P/S: I want lots and lots of Ice Lychee Yogurt and Ice Mango Yogurt.
